Job summary

Baldor Specialty Foods in New York is seeking a Hi-Lo Operator I for the overnight shift to safely transport, replenish, and organize inventory across warehouse operations.

This role supports replenishment between reserve storage and primary picking locations, collaborates with Receiving, Inventory Control, Operations, Sanitation, and other teams, and ensures product availability, inventory accuracy, and efficiency while upholding GMP/HACCP and safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Prior warehouse, distribution, logistics, or material handling experience preferred.
  • Experience operating powered industrial equipment preferred.
  • Internally certified for one level reach operating a Hi-Lo.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain company certification for material handling equipment operation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate certified Hi-Lo equipment to transport, store, and replenish products throughout warehouse operations.
  • Move inventory between reserve storage locations and primary pick locations to support order fulfillment and operational efficiency.
  • Perform replenishment activities in accordance with operational priorities and inventory requirements.
  • Support receiving, inventory movement, sanitation, and other warehouse workflows as assigned.
  • Verify product locations, quantities, and inventory information prior to product movement.
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift equipment inspections and complete required safety documentation.
  • Identify and report product damage, inventory discrepancies, equipment concerns, or operational issues.
  • Follow established warehouse traffic patterns, equipment operating procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within assigned work areas and equipment staging locations.
  • Follow all GMP, HACCP, food safety, quality assurance, and workplace safety procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with warehouse operations, receiving, inventory control, quality control, and leadership teams to support daily operational goals.
  • Perform additional warehouse and operational duties as assigned.

Position Summary:

The Hi-Lo Operator I is responsible for safely operating a Hi-Lo to transport, replenish, and organize inventory throughout warehouse operations. This role supports inventory movement between reserve storage and primary picking locations to ensure product availability, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

The Hi-Lo Operator I works closely with Receiving, Inventory Control, Operations, Sanitation, and other warehouse teams to support replenishment activities, product flow, and daily operational requirements while maintaining compliance with company safety and food safety standards.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, and move throughout warehouse operational areas for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull products and materials within company-established guidelines, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to work in refrigerated, freezer, wet, or varying warehouse temperature environments.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and comply with workplace safety requirements.

Work Environment:

This position operates within warehouse, production, and distribution environments that may include refrigerated, freezer, wet, and fast-paced operational conditions. Associates may be exposed to moving equipment, varying temperatures, and moderate to loud noise levels.
