Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic - Principal Veterinarian

Join our team at Hillsboro Veterinary Clinic in vibrant Hillsboro, OR! We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Principal Veterinarian to work a three- or four-day week. Enjoy a practice deeply committed to serving pets, building strong client relationships, and supporting your personal quality of life.

Located near Portland, our area offers cultural attractions, diverse cuisine, outdoor adventures, and recreational activities like skiing on Mount Hood or visiting the Pacific Ocean.

Job Summary

The Principal Doctor oversees all hospital operations, ensuring top-tier veterinary care, excellent client service, and team well-being and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain high-quality care and service standards
  • Support hospital operations alongside the Practice Manager, including meetings, planning, budgeting, and staffing
  • Lead and mentor associate doctors and staff
  • Manage scheduling, training, and compliance with legal and ethical standards
  • Engage in community outreach and marketing
Customer Service Delivery
  • Provide professional and exceptional service
  • Communicate effectively with clients and team members
  • Resolve customer complaints efficiently
Other Responsibilities
  • Ensure safety standards and regulations are met
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Onsite position at our hospital, with some offsite events
  • Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and perform physical tasks
  • Exposure to pets, biological hazards, and medications
