Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Hardware-in-the-Loop Software Test Engineer in Anaheim, CA to design and run automated test systems for embedded hardware and software in aerospace/defense projects.

You will develop test benches and automation in Python/C++ on Linux, collaborate with embedded/electrical/systems teams, and drive verification to ensure products meet specifications before shipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years of software test, verification, or HIL testing for embedded systems.
• Strong hands-on Linux experience: command line, Bash scripting, system configuration, and debugging.
• Proficiency in Python for test automation; working knowledge of C or C++.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain HIL test benches that connect real hardware to simulated system inputs and loads.
• Develop automated test scripts and frameworks in Python and/or C/C++ running on Linux.
• Write test plans, procedures, and test cases traced to system and software requirements.
• Execute verification and regression testing, then analyze results and log defects with clear root-cause data.
• Configure and troubleshoot Linux test hosts, including shell scripting, networking, drivers, and package management.
• Interface with instruments and buses such as oscilloscopes, power supplies, DAQ hardware, CAN, RS-232/422/485, Ethernet, MIL-STD-1553.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines to support continuous verification.
• Produce test reports and documentation that support customer reviews and qualification.

Job Details

We are hiring a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Software Test Engineer to build and run automated test systems that validate embedded software and electronic hardware for aerospace and defense programs. What You Bring
