Job summary

KPIT in Columbus, IN is seeking a hands-on HIL engineer to support battery validation, fault injection testing, and functional safety validation on HIL setups. You will collaborate with technicians and the systems team to ensure rigorous test coverage and thorough validation of requirements.

The role emphasizes developing test plans, documenting results in RNnS, and driving activities independently in a fast-paced environment. Prior HIL exposure and understanding of BMS features are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience validating battery systems and BMS features.
• Ability to perform fault injection testing.
• Experience with CAN communication and UDS protocols.
• FuSa validation exposure.
• Ability to review circuits and wiring diagrams.
• Proficient in RNnS test reporting.

Responsibilities

• Assist senior HIL engineer and operate HIL setup.
• Develop test plan for battery validation in cell level.
• Perform fault injection testing.
• Validate Functional Safety requirements on HIL.
• Act as liaison between technicians and systems team.
• Create and review test reports in RNnS.
• Drive activities independently in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Work alongside the more experienced HIL engineer, receiving hands on training and support while helping operate HIL setup.
• Develop test plan for battery validation in cell for Technicians.
• Perform fault injection testing.
• Validate Functional Safety requirements on HIL.
• Act as the liaison between technicians and the systems team to ensure requirements are validated thoroughly.
• Create and document test report in RNnS (Integrity).
• Review test report with the team.
• Drive activities independently in a fast paced environment.

Requirements

• CAN communication.
• Python scripting for automated test development.
• Battery systems experience with understanding of how critical BMs features work, e.g., SOC, SOH, power limits, diagnostics.
• Diagnostics calibration and validation experience.
• Circuit and wiring diagram review understanding.
• FuSa validation experience.
• Tools and UDS protocol experience.
