Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an experienced HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) / dSPACE Engineer to support automotive ECU development, integration, validation, and automated testing. The engineer will work with dSPACE SCALEXIO, ControlDesk, AutomationDesk, and MATLAB/Simulink to configure real-time simulations, develop test cases, troubleshoot ECUs, and contribute to regression testing.

The role requires hands-on experience with HIL testing and dSPACE tools, deep knowledge of CAN/CAN

Qualifications

3+ years of automotive testing/validation experience.
Hands-on experience with HIL testing.
Strong hands-on experience with dSPACE.
Experience with SCALEXIO.
Experience with ControlDesk.
Experience with AutomationDesk.
Strong knowledge of CAN / CAN FD.
Experience with CANoe / CANalyzer.
Experience with MATLAB / Simulink.
Experience testing automotive ECUs.
Strong debugging and root-cause analysis skills.
Experience developing or executing automated test cases.
Knowledge of automotive embedded systems.

Responsibilities

Develop, configure, and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test environments for automotive ECUs.
Configure and troubleshoot dSPACE SCALEXIO real-time simulation platforms.
Develop and execute automated test cases using dSPACE AutomationDesk.
Use ControlDesk for real-time monitoring, measurement, calibration, and ECU testing.
Configure ECU I/O, signals, sensors, actuators, and automotive communication interfaces.
Develop and execute functional, integration, regression, and diagnostic tests.
Perform ECU testing using CAN, CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, and Automotive Ethernet.
Develop and maintain plant/vehicle models using MATLAB/Simulink.
Perform fault injection and negative testing to validate ECU behavior under abnormal conditions.
Analyze test results, identify failures, and perform root-cause analysis.
Debug communication, hardware, software, and integration issues on HIL benches.
Develop automated test scripts using Python, CAPL, or other scripting languages.
Support ECU diagnostics testing including UDS and related diagnostic services.
Collaborate with embedded software, systems, calibration, and validation teams.
Create and maintain test specifications, test cases, test reports, and technical documentation.
Support continuous integration and automated regression testing where applicable.
