Job summary

Project Centrei in London is seeking a Highways Engineer to deliver transportation schemes from concept through to detailed design. You will collaborate with experienced engineers and support junior colleagues, applying UK standards and AutoCAD in a live urban environment.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of highways design experience, a Civil Engineering degree, and a confident use of AutoCAD. Hybrid working and clear development paths are offered.

About the role

Asa Highways Engineer,you'llplay a key role in delivering a wide range of transportation and highway improvement schemes from concept through to detailed design.You'llcollaborate with experienced engineers, support junior colleagues, and contribute to projects that improve the way people travel.

We’re looking for someone with at least three years’ highways design experience, strong knowledge of UK standards including DMRB, TfL Streetscape Guidance, LTN 1/20, LCDS and TSRGD, and confident ability using AutoCAD. A Civil Engineering degree (or equivalent experience) is essential, along with a solid understanding of delivering real-world design solutions in a live, urban environment.

You’llbe confident working with clients,stakeholdersand multidisciplinary teams, and comfortable applying CDM 2015 principles as part of a busy, collaborative project environment.

What you will be doing:

• Producing highway and transportation designs from concept to detailed design stages.
• Preparing high-quality engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Undertaking site visits,surveysand data collection.
• Analysing information and producing technical reports.
• Designing road markings, trafficsignsand highway layouts in line with current standards.
• Supporting and mentoring CAD Technicians, Graduates and Apprentices.
• Taking advantage of structured training and professional development opportunities to support your career progression.

What we are looking for:

• Degree in Civil Engineering (or similar).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience in the preparation of concept, outline and detailed design drawingsincluding the full suite ofdrawings for all series.
• Good working knowledge of AutoCADand ability to produce the fullpackage for construction.
• Experience with geometric highway alignment design.
• A genuine interest in highways,transportationand infrastructure.

• Vehicle Tracking / Swept Path Analysis.
