Job summary

Langan Engineering & Environmental Services is seeking an Intern/Co-op – Highway/Roadway Engineering for Summer 2027 in Doylestown, PA. The role supports the design of highways, freeways and local roads on diversified transportation projects across the country, providing hands-on exposure to traffic engineering and infrastructure permitting.

You will use AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guidesign and related software in a cross-disciplinary learning environment, collaborate with engineers, and gain practical

Qualifications

• Pursuing a four-year or advanced degree in Civil or Transportation Engineering.
• GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred.
• Familiarity with Guidesign and AutoTURN highly desirable.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation or SoftDesk civil software a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail with analytical and judgment abilities.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Travel may be required based on business needs.

Responsibilities

• Geometric designs of highways, freeways, and local roads using codes.
• Concept layout and preliminary road design.
• Preparation of Traffic signalization drawings and plans.
• Design of roadway drainage and stormwater management.
• Construction specifications review and cost estimation.
• Preparation of Maintenance and Protection of Traffic plans (MPT).
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D, Guidesign, AutoTURN to prepare documents.
• Complete ADA inspections of constructed facilities.
• Perform other duties as requested.
