The Town of Edgartown Highway Department is seeking an Operator I to perform skilled labor in maintaining and repairing town streets and related infrastructure. This is a full-time, year-round, 40-hour per week position with a $32.00–$45.55 per hour wage plus a $5,000 sign-on incentive.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, at least one year of related public works experience, a valid Class B CDL, and Hoisting License 2B.

Qualifikationen

• High School diploma and one year of related public works or construction experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Must possess a valid Class B CDL driver’s license, and Hoisting License 2B
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and current practices essential to maintenance of town streets and roadways.

Aufgaben

• Operates a variety of vehicles and equipment for highway operations (street sweeper, backhoe, mower, etc.).
• Patches streets and sidewalks; maintains drainage lines and catch basins.
• Loads bulk materials (salt, sand) for construction projects; participates in snow/ice removal and emergencies.
• Trains/ supervises crew as needed; ensures safety precautions are followed.
