Job summary

The Town of Edgartown Highway Department is seeking a Junior Operator to perform skilled labor in maintaining town streets, roadways, drainage, and other infrastructure. The role requires operating various vehicles and equipment, plus participation in snow removal and emergency operations.

A high school diploma and a valid driver’s license are required; 1 year of related experience or equivalent education is acceptable.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least one year of related public works or construction experience, or equivalent education/training.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of highway department vehicles and equipment.
• Patches streets, sidewalks, and maintains drainage lines.
• Picks up litter, mows lawns, trims trees, and maintains town streets.
• Assists in snow removal and emergency operations.
• Supervise crew members as assigned and ensure safety procedures.
