This 1,000-hour seasonal position runs from June to October—a great fit if you like staying active, being outside, and contributing to meaningful projects in your community.

Love working outdoors and getting your hands dirty? This role puts you in the driver’s seat—literally and figuratively—as you help maintain and improve the roads that keep our community moving. You'll operate powerful equipment, take pride in visible results, and enjoy the variety that each day brings.

  • Operate heavy and light equipment to tackle a wide range of road projects—paving, grading, sweeping, patching, striping, and more.
  • Clear the way by removing roadside debris, cutting back brush and trees, mowing roadsides, and managing vegetation along the right-of-way.
  • Keep things flowing—inspect, maintain, and replace culverts and drainage systems; clean out streams, lakes, and ditches; and clear blocked drains and inlets.
  • Create safe work zones by prepping job sites and removing potential hazards.
  • Step up in winter for snow removal, de-icing, and general shop maintenance.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 years of related experience and/or training, or a mix of education and experience that gets the job done.

Preferred:

  • 4+ years of experience in roadwork or heavy equipment operation
  • Class A CDL
  • $25.98/hour, depending on your experience and qualifications.
  • This is a 1,000-hour seasonal position, running from June through October—ideal for those who enjoy seasonal work and outdoor challenges!
