Job summary

Idaho Transportation Department in Sublett, Idaho is hiring a Transportation Technician Apprentice – Highway Maintenance. This 3-5 year horizontal career path offers on-the-job and classroom training with wage progression through three steps.

You must obtain a Class A CDL within 60 days and pass pre-employment testing; duties include snow plowing, sign maintenance, and equipment operation in all weather. Overtime and irregular shifts may apply.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license is required.
• Experience operating vehicles with manual transmissions is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level traffic services such as snow plowing and sign work.
• Conduct entry-level highway maintenance and engineering tasks.
• Operate power tools and light/heavy equipment to maintain roadways.
• Conduct routine inspections and field tests on projects.
• Report and document material testing and results.
• Work in varied weather and conditions with overtime as needed.
