Job summary

CALTRANS LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE WORKER role with the State of California, based in Orange County, performing landscape maintenance, weed control, soil sterilization, and chemical applications for weed and insect control. Overtime, night shifts, weekends are possible; may require travel across the district and temporary duty.

Position is permanent, full-time with a monthly salary range of $4,102–$4,865. A valid Class C license is required; exam eligibility and the Post & Bid process apply.

Qualifications

• Possession of a valid Class C driver's license is required.
• Qualified Applicator Certificate (QAC) is desirable.
• Ability to operate and maintain light automotive equipment and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Maintain landscape plantings and weed control along state highways.
• Apply chemicals for weed and insect control as needed.
• Operate and maintain light equipment; perform general laboring tasks outdoors.
