Job summary

GeoStabilization International (GSI), Access Limited, and RoadGuard form a leading infrastructure platform. The Boise-area role will lead a union crew in installing guardrail, attenuators, sign structures, and related highway safety hardware while coordinating daily field work and ensuring DOT compliance.

The position requires strong safety leadership and hands-on supervision on active projects. Minimum 3–5 years in highway or civil construction with at least 2 years as foreman; CDL preferred

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years highway/roadway or heavy civil construction experience.
  • At least 2 years in foreman or lead role.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
  • OSHA 10/30 – Construction, ATSSA TCS or equivalent preferred.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, supervise, and work with a union crew to install guardrail and safety hardware according to plans and DOT requirements.
  • Plan, direct daily work, set goals, and assign tasks to meet safety, schedule, and budget targets.
  • Enforce safety rules; conduct toolbox talks, JHAs, and site inspections.
  • Review plans and ensure field work matches contract documents.

Required Skills & Abilities
  • Lead, supervise, and work alongside a union crew to install guardrail, attenuators, sign structures, and related highway safety hardware in accordance with plans, specs, and DOT requirements.
  • Plan and direct daily work, set production goals, and assign tasks to ensure jobs are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Enforce all safety requirements; conduct daily toolbox talks, JHAs, and site safety inspections.
  • Read and interpret construction plans, shop drawings, and traffic control plans, and ensure field work matches contract documents.
  • Coordinate site setup, traffic control, material staging, and equipment use; verify proper operation and maintenance of crew equipment.
  • Administer work in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement; coordinate manpower with the local hall and address union and crew issues professionally.
  • Mentor, train, and develop crew members; provide clear direction and constructive feedback.
  • Serve as the on-site point of contact
  • Complete and submit accurate daily reports, timesheets, production logs, and equipment/material records.
  • Identify and communicate scope changes, differing site conditions, or extra work to the Project Manager.
Experience
  • Minimum 3-5 years of highway, roadway, or heavy/civil construction experience, with at least 2 years in a foreman or lead role.
  • Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred.
Preferred Certifications
  • OSHA 10 or 30 – Construction
  • ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor (TCS) or equivalent
  • Flagger certification
  • First Aid / CPR certification
Physical & Environmental Requirements
  • Must regularly stand, walk, bend, twist, climb, and use hands to operate tools and equipment; must be able to lift at least 75 pounds.
  • Work is performed outdoors and adjacent to live traffic in all weather conditions
  • Regional position based at the Boise, ID yard, with daily travel to active projects in the Road Guard West service area; night work and occasional overnight travel as project locations require.

US pay range for this role.

$33.17—$45.67 USD
