Job summary

Creighton Manning, a GAI Consultants Company, is seeking a Highway Engineer 3 to lead highway design work in a hybrid role across Albany and Poughkeepsie, NY.

As a licensed Project Engineer, you will manage smaller projects end-to-end, coordinating with traffic, structural, and construction inspection teams, with a strong pipeline of secured work to focus on engineering tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (ABET/EAC accredited) required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 8+ years highway/roadway design experience.
• Proficiency with MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoTurn.
• Knowledge of NYSDOT Highway Design Manual.
• Active member of a professional organization.
• Occasional after-hours work for deadlines and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Design roadways, trails, sidewalks, and intersections, including roundabouts and traffic signals.
• Check calculations and prepare construction contract documents.
• Coordinate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and present at project meetings.
• Prepare reports, estimates, and basic proposals.
• Provide technical guidance and oversight to junior engineers and technicians.

Pay: Albany: $44-$60/hour; Poughkeepsie: $44- $63

Design the roads, intersections, and trails that connect New York communities. Creighton Manning is growing its Highway Design Group. As a licensed Project Engineer, you'll lead highway design work and manage smaller projects from start to finish, partnering with traffic, structural, and construction inspection teams. With a strong pipeline of secured work, you can focus on engineering-not business development.

What You Will Do

• Design roadways, trails, sidewalks, and intersections, including roundabouts and traffic signals.
