Join to apply for the Highway Designer I (Entry Level) role at PRIME AE Group, Inc.

Position Overview:

The primary focus of this role will be to perform highway engineering design for our diverse clientele supporting Pennsylvania projects.

Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Design various types of highway and traffic projects, including urban and rural roadways, interstates, interchanges, traffic management, transportation planning, highway safety, site planning, preparation of concept alignments, geometric layout, MOT, Drainage and ADA compliance projects.
  2. Work with the design team comprised of Project Managers, Senior Engineers, and other technical staff to develop engineered solutions for various clients.
  3. Work on design for a variety of roadway projects including interchanges, intersection improvements, roadway widening/capacity improvements, ADA, and pedestrian safety upgrades.
  4. Utilize Bentley CAD design software such as OpenRoads Designer (ORD) and MicroStation/InRoads for design and plan production.
  5. Perform field visits for ongoing design projects.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
  2. Engineer-In-Training (EIT) Certificate preferred.
  3. 0-4 years’ of experience in highway, roadway, and/or civil projects.
  4. Proficient in performing MicroStation InRoads modeling, Openroads Designer (ORD) modeling experience is preferred.
  5. Familiarity with AASHTO, PennDOT, PTC, MUTCD, and ADA regulations.
  6. Strong oral and technical writing skills.
  7. Ability to handle multiple assignments.
  8. An attitude and commitment to work cooperatively with others.
  9. Ability to analyze complex highway issues and alternates and prepare cogent recommendations.
