Job summary

GPI is seeking a Highway Design Engineer to join our Transportation team in Melville, NY. You will design roadway projects for NYSDOT, municipalities, and local agencies while collaborating with experienced engineers in an employee-owned firm.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, 3+ years of highway design experience, and an EIT certification with PE preferred. Proficiency in MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer is expected, with AutoCAD Civil 3D as a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
• 3+ years of highway, roadway, or transportation design experience
• EIT certification required; PE license or ability to obtain preferred
• Experience with NYSDOT standards, specifications, and design procedures preferred
• Proficiency with MicroStation/OpenRoads Designer; AutoCAD Civil 3D a plus
• Knowledge of roadway geometry, drainage design, traffic control, and utility coordination
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and work effectively in a team environment
