Job summary

RS&H, Inc. in Illinois seeks a Highway Engineering Associate II to join the Transportation Practice in Chicago or St. Charles.

You will perform roadway analysis and design, plan production, reports, estimates, and support project delivery. Requirements include a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience; strong written and oral communication; and proficiency with production software. Preferred: Microstation, InRoads, OpenRoads, Bluebeam REVU.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited program or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years relevant experience.
• Proficient in production software and construction document production.
• Must possess strong oral and written communications skills.
• Must have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate engineering tasks, including utilizing production software and developing impact studies, cost analyses, and design requirements.
• Leads data collection efforts.
• Prepares portions of project documents utilizing advanced software and technology. Edits specifications and discipline reports. Prepare drawings, visual aids, and presentations.
• Performs as-needed field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects to gain increased understanding of construction practices and design applications.
• Performs research and investigations to support development of proposed engineering applications.
• Remains knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline.
• Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
