Job summary

McMillan Pazdan Smith Architecture is seeking a Project Architect to join our Higher Education team in Atlanta. You will review drawings, develop CD sets, and manage design development with clients while coordinating with engineers and contractors.

The ideal candidate has five or more years of experience, strong Revit and Newforma skills, and a collaborative, detail-oriented approach to complex educational projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Architecture or equivalent required.
• Licensed Architect preferred but not required.
• Minimum five years combined experience as intern architect/architect.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
• Proficient in Revit; experience with Newforma tools and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Review shop drawings, submittals, and respond to RFIs.
• Produce construction documents, revisions, and addenda.
• Own finished plans, specifications, and material approvals.
• Assist with budget management and scheduling.
• Prepare design presentation materials for clients.
• Develop schematic design concepts with clients/users.
• Provide architectural consultation for large projects.
• Write project specifications as assigned.
• Conduct code research and liaise with agencies for approvals.
• Collaborate with engineers, consultants, contractors and clients.
• Assume project manager role as necessary.
• Prepare proposals, design budgets, and workforce projections.
• Supervise design team and guide project objectives and policy.
• Ensure environmental, safety, structural, zoning, and aesthetic standards.
• Manage client relationships and support business development.
• Perform construction administration and change orders.
