The role emphasizes collaboration with faculty, development of awareness programs, and partnerships with external agencies. A Bachelor's in a related field and 4+ years in higher education disability services are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Counselor Education, Special Education, Counseling Psychology, Education, or related field.
• Minimum four years’ experience in a disability services office in higher education.
• Certification in Rehabilitation Counseling Education beneficial for working with diverse students.

Responsibilities

• Plans, organizes and provides reasonable accommodations including academic adjustments and services for students with disabilities.
• Conducts initial interviews, reviews documentation, prepares letters of accommodation and evaluates eligibility.
• Consults with faculty on accommodations and develops disability awareness programs.
• Collaborates with other offices and outside agencies as needed.
