Colby College’s Office of the General Counsel seeks an Assistant General Counsel to provide legal advice, guidance, and support across regulatory, compliance, and risk matters. The role collaborates with College leadership, faculty, staff, and students to address complex issues while upholding the college’s mission and values.

The Assistant General Counsel will assist with litigation support, regulatory compliance, policy development, and external counsel coordination.

Qualificações

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in Maine or willing to obtain Maine licensure within two years.
• Strong commitment to higher education and supporting students and community.
• Excellent research, writing, and advisory skills.
• Ability to develop trusted relationships with College leadership and staff.

Responsabilidades

• Provide legal advice to College leadership and departments on a broad range of matters.
• Research, analyze, and develop practical legal strategies.
• Advise on compliance with higher education regulations and labor laws.
• Coordinate with outside counsel for litigation and reviews as needed.
• Support policy development and risk management initiatives.
