Job summary

New Seasons Market in Oregon is seeking a Cook for our Prepared Foods department. You will help prepare food for multiple stations, support the hot and cold lines, and provide friendly service to customers.

The role requires evening, weekend, and holiday shifts as needed, with adherence to food safety trainings and company policies. Prior grocery or restaurant experience is preferred, along with strong knife skills and attention to quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Previous customer service, food service such as restaurants or catering, retail or grocery experience required.
• Food preparation and cooking experience required, preferably in a high-volume environment.
• Solid knife skills required and familiarity with culinary terminology and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Prepares kitchen for store opening and closing.
• Prepares food for all Prepared Foods stations and cases following recipes and specifications.
• Maintains labeling, dating, storage and product quality, and supports various cook-to-order stations.
• Stocks, rotates and faces products ensuring quality and correct expiration dates.
• Assists customers with product selection, packaging and labeling and provides product knowledge when needed.
