Job summary

The Transition House in Tarpon Springs, FL is seeking a Food Service Specialist to prepare, cook, and serve meals for 60–150 individuals in a re-entry program. The role supports kitchen cleanliness, sanitation, and safe handling of equipment.

Requirements include High School Diploma or GED and 1 year of related experience, plus ServSafe certification within 2 weeks of training. The position involves nights, weekends, and holidays, in a dynamic program setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Background check and Florida Department of Corrections approval required.
• ServSafe Certification is preferred or must be obtained within 2 weeks of training.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 60–150 individuals.
• Set up food service areas, equipment, and utensils.
• Prepare and serve hot and cold items per portion/food safety standards.
• Replenish stations and maintain supplies.
• Maintain kitchen areas, equipment, and sanitation.
• Monitor food quality and report issues.
• Follow safety and workplace procedures at all times.
• Assist with other kitchen duties as assigned.
