Job description

About Us: Kearney Eye Institute (KEI) is a high-volume surgical practice in need of multiple surgeons. We offer untapped opportunities in the refractive market and high glaucoma volume. Subspecialists are welcome, and partnership track is available! Compensation ranges from $300,000 to $700,000, based on experience, subspecialty, and clinic and surgery volume.

Our rapidly growing MD/OD group practice currently includes five optometrist and one MD. With two locations within 45 minutes of each other, we are looking for one or two full-time MDs, and subspecialists are highly encouraged to apply.

For over 60 years, Kearney Eye Institute has maintained a loyal patient base and strong optometric referral network. Our clinic is fully staffed with certified ophthalmic technicians and state-of-the-art equipment. We have an on-site ASC and optical shop. Each physician is supported by one or two work-ups and scribes, depending on volume, to assist with charting, minor procedures, ordering/patient follow-up, and more. Our team includes three well-trained surgical coordinators and a fully staffed nursing unit. We promote mutual respect and cooperation, working together to provide outstanding eye care services.

Are you a team-oriented, hard-working, compassionate ophthalmologist looking to provide the highest quality of care to new and established patients? If so, apply today!

Equipment: Our Kearney location feature 13 exam lanes. Both locations are equipped with Zeiss Cirrus OCTs, fundus cameras, Marco OPDs, Zeiss Humphrey Visual Fields, IOL Masters, auto-refractors, YAG/SLT lasers, and full IT and tech support. KEI houses an on-site ASC and optical shop/contact lens department. Our ASC provides Alcon Luxor microscope and Centurion phacos, in addition to femtosecond laser and ORA.

The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated and capable Ophthalmologist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be a board-certified/board-eligible physician committed to delivering excellent patient care and surgical outcomes. Recent graduates, mid-career, or veteran applicants are welcome. There is substantial opportunity for practice growth leading to partnership possibilities for the right individual. Glaucoma or cornea fellowship-trained applicants are encouraged to apply, as well as other subspecialists, and must be willing to practice comprehensive ophthalmology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
  • Perform surgical procedures, including cataract surgery, pterygium surgery, and glaucoma surgeries. Other specialties are encouraged to reach out for further opportunities, with significant potential for cornea and refractive interests.
  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care for surgical patients, followed by in-house or referring optometrists.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide integrated care.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings with fellow doctors and management to ensure a smooth-running, patient-oriented atmosphere.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of an ophthalmology residency program. Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation and Benefits: This position includes competitive compensation, partnership track, full benefits package including a 401(k) retirement savings plan, $3,500 annual education allowance, professional liability insurance, and relocation assistance.
