Job summary

SpaceXSI is hiring High Voltage Electricians for its internal construction team supporting rapid data center build-out. The role travels to active sites to energize 69 kV+ substations and TVA interconnect facilities, building HV infrastructure from drawings and turning it over upon energization.

This is an hourly construction/commissioning role with overtime, requiring 80%+ travel and per diem or housing while on site, with the flexibility to work nights and weekends as sites come online.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as journeyman lineman or substation electrician on 69 kV+ systems.
• Journeyman card or equivalent qualification required.
• Switching and clearance work on HV equipment per OSHA 1910.269.
• Ability to read substation one-lines and drawings.
• Knowledge of NFPA 70E and LOTO procedures.
• Willingness to travel 80%+ and work nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Travel with internal teams to project sites to install, land, and test HV substation equipment at 69 kV+.
• Perform switching, isolation, grounding, and restoration under approved orders.
• Install HV conductors, jumpers, terminations, and grounding; support aerial/yard work.
• Support first energization and commissioning of HV yard.
• Read, interpret, and produce as-builts/test records.
• Ensure compliance with NFPA 70E, OSHA 1910.269, and SpaceXSI safety standards.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, utility, and ops teams to deliver projects on time.
• Mobilize quickly between locations as construction priorities shift.
