We are currently looking for candidates located within 60 miles of any of the listed hubs to foster more in‑person connections while maintaining our flexible remote culture.

About This Role

As part of Intersect’s Construction Project Management team, you’ll lead the delivery of large‑scale high‑voltage substation and transmission line projects across Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico supporting infrastructure at voltage levels up to 500kV. This role is responsible for managing complex, cross‑functional execution from detailed design through commissioning and close‑out, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.

You’ll collaborate closely with Development, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Operations while serving as a key interface with utilities. Your leadership will directly support the successful interconnection and energization of critical infrastructure that enables large‑scale power delivery.

Team Overview

This team plays a critical role in advancing Intersect’s mission to accelerate the clean energy transition by delivering complex infrastructure projects that connect generation to the grid. The Construction Project Management team partners across internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure high‑quality, disciplined execution at scale. Joining this team means leading technically sophisticated projects while contributing to a culture grounded in accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

What You’ll Do
Lead High‑Voltage Project Execution
  • Manage the full lifecycle of substation and transmission projects up to 500kV, from engineering and procurement through construction, commissioning, and close‑out.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules aligned with utility and EPC timelines.
  • Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain momentum and achieve critical milestones.
Manage Utility & EPC Partnerships
  • Serve as a primary interface with utilities to ensure compliance with grid operator standards and interconnection requirements.
  • Oversee three‑way coordination between internal teams, utilities, and EPC contractors to drive aligned execution.
  • Lead administration of construction contracts, including change orders, RFIs, submittals, and document control.
Drive Financial & Contract Discipline
  • Manage project budgets, cash flow forecasts, and financial reporting to maintain alignment with approved targets.
  • Review invoices and change orders in partnership with Finance to ensure accuracy and transparency.
  • Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, interconnection agreements, and related commercial requirements.
Champion Quality, Compliance & Reporting
  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure construction meets technical specifications and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive progress, financial, and risk reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure timely resolution of technical issues and documentation management, including as‑built and engineering records.
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 5+ years of experience managing high‑voltage substation and transmission line projects, including experience on projects up to 500kV.
  • Direct experience working with utilities on interconnection, regulatory, and technical matters.
  • Strong understanding of utility‑scale transmission infrastructure, EPC contracting models, and high‑voltage equipment.
  • Knowledge of regulatory frameworks and interconnection processes.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, and cross‑functional teams in complex infrastructure environments.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Slack.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills that will help you succeed in utility‑facing and cross‑functional environments.
  • Willingness and ability to travel to project sites and support on‑site execution as needed.
