Job summary

Actalent in High Bridge, NJ, is seeking a Test Technician to support testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair of high-voltage DC power supplies and power converters with embedded microcontrollers.

You will follow detailed test procedures, read schematics, use an oscilloscope and multimeter, and contribute to throughput in a hands-on onsite lab, with a typical day handling 1 to 6 units and safely lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of basic electronics theory, including Ohm's Law.
• Knowledge of analog and digital circuit theory.
• Ability to use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other standard electronic test equipment for troubleshooting.
• Ability to read and interpret schematic diagrams for circuit-level analysis.

Responsibilities

• Power up, test, and calibrate switching power supplies according to detailed procedures.
• Perform functional tests on high-voltage DC power supplies and power converters.
• Read schematics to troubleshoot at circuit level with assistance as needed.
• Identify and repair manufacturing mistakes and defects on tested units.
• Use oscilloscopes, multimeters, and other test equipment to diagnose issues.
