Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Power Electronics Engineer - High Voltage (Starlink) to lead the design of kV-level power supplies for TWTA systems. You will own the hardware lifecycle from concept through production, collaborating with RF, mechanical, and systems teams to drive high-performance, reliable power for space-grade gateways.

The role emphasizes hands-on design, testing, and rapid iteration with a strong emphasis on fault tolerance, reliability, and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related STEM field.
• 1+ years in power-converter development through work or projects.
• Experience with magnetics and transformer/inductor design, including planar magnetics.
• Modeling, simulation, and testing of power electronics.

Responsibilities

• Own hardware from concept to high-volume production and ground station operation.
• Design, analyze, and rigorously test DC-DC power converters for harsh environments.
• Create power supplies supporting tens of kilovolts and hundreds of watts.
• Trade electrical power system designs for performance, efficiency, and reliability.
• Lead verification testing and analysis for electrical power systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers to define power electronics hardware.
• Iterate designs quickly to inform high-level systems trades and product direction.
• Interface with embedded, analog sensing, telemetry, and system controls.
