Job summary

Ultipro in Annapolis, MD is seeking an experienced electrician to install, maintain, and repair equipment used for generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy. You will read blueprints and specifications to locate and diagnose problems.

The role requires formal apprenticeship or journeyman/master licensing, and the ability to lift 50 lbs. Proficiency with CMMS software and MS Office is preferred. The position offers competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Apprenticeship or licensed Journeyman/Master.
  • CMMS experience is highly desirable.
  • Able to lift 50 lbs, squat, bend, and climb ladders.
  • May be exposed to heat, cold, noise, dust, and chemicals.

Responsibilities

  • Install and repair electrical equipment such as generators, transformers, and switchboards.
  • Read blueprints and specifications to locate and diagnose issues.
  • Perform load calculations for wiring and equipment.
  • Operate electrical hand tools and testing instruments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas.
  • Assist maintenance team as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Install and repair of a variety of electrical equipment, such as generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
  • Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
  • Locate and diagnose trouble in the electrical system or equipment.
  • Work standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
  • Use of a variety of electrician’s hand tools and test & measurement instruments.
  • Maintain the general cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces.
  • Assist others as part of the maintenance team as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of computer software programs to include Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook required.
  • Rounded training and experience, usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship, licensed Journeyman or Masters
  • Experience with a Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System software (CMMS) highly desired.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.
  • Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable. May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.

The base salary range for this position is $42.98/hr.
