Job Overview

Performs a variety of electrical trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of electric energy.

Responsibilities

1. Install and repair electrical equipment, including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit systems, or other transmission equipment.
2. Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications.
3. Locate and diagnose electrical system or equipment troubles.
4. Perform calculations related to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
5. Use electrician’s hand tools and test & measurement instruments.
6. Maintain cleanliness and appearance of assigned spaces.
7. Assist maintenance team members as needed.
8. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Formal training and experience, such as an apprenticeship, licensed Journeyman, or Master electrician.
• Experience with Facility Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software is highly desirable.

Work Environment

• Ability to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and stand for long periods.
• Exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, chemicals, with safety precautions.
