High Voltage Charging System Component Development & Validation Engineer (Contract)

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented High Voltage Systems Engineer to support the design, testing, and validation of high‑voltage (HV) power electronics and charging systems. The ideal candidate will bring a solid foundation in engineering principles, a strong understanding of product development cycles, and hands‑on experience with high‑voltage components and testing methodologies.

Responsibilities
  • Design, test, and validate high‑voltage power electronics and charging systems.
  • Develop and maintain DVP&R, DRBTR, and DFMEA documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on product development lifecycle.
  • Interface with engineering specification documents and version control systems.
  • Conduct end‑of‑line testing protocols and manage lab environments.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited or equivalent institution.
  • 2–7+ years of relevant professional engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written), including demonstrated technical writing skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of the product development lifecycle, particularly DVP&R, DRBTR, and DFMEA.
  • Familiarity with HV charging systems and components: design, construction, and testing.
  • Understanding of high‑voltage safety standards and best practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office tools (Excel [intermediate to advanced], PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
  • Available to work full‑time on‑site at the CTC facility in Auburn Hills, MI.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s or advanced degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5–10+ years of experience in the automotive or power electronics industry.
  • Hands‑on experience with DVP&R development for:
  • High Voltage Power Inverter Modules
  • High Voltage Traction Motors
  • Prior experience authoring and managing engineering specification documents.
  • Familiarity with version control systems or source control for documentation.
  • Background in Design Release Engineering (DRE) roles.
  • Experience defining End‑of‑Line (EOL) testing protocols for HV components.
  • Direct exposure to lab environments and test equipment, such as:
  • Digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and hi‑pot testers.
  • High/low voltage power supplies and coolant conditioning units.
  • Motor dynamometers and ETAS‑based data acquisition tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership or subject matter expertise in a technical team setting.
Compensation & Benefits

The pay range for this contract position is $24.91/hour – $38.93/hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, and retirement benefits.
