Job summary

Lightmatter is building the next generation of AI data center photonics and high-speed interconnects. We are seeking an engineer to validate and architect test strategies for high-speed I/O interfaces across our product line, executing electrical characterization and stress testing in system environments.

You will collaborate with architecture, signal integrity, and silicon design teams, set up lab platforms, and develop Python-based test software to automate measurements and data extraction.

Qualifications

• Master's in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 6+ years in transceiver/SerDes or high-speed link test development.
• Extensive hands-on experience with high-speed lab equipment (oscilloscopes, BERTs, VNAs, spectrum analyzers).
• Experience in test system automation and data processing using Python.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills, with ability to communicate complex concepts.

Responsibilities

• Execute high-speed serial I/O characterization across multiple platforms for Lightmatter products.
• Collaborate with architecture, signal integrity, and silicon design teams to design characterization approaches for product manufacturing.
• Architect test concepts, platforms, and test rules and provide feedback during concept phases.
• Set up and operate lab equipment (oscilloscopes, BERTs, AWGs, TDRs, VNAs/PNAs).
• Develop Python-based test software and scripts for automated measurements and data extraction.
• Define stress-testing methodologies to identify design operating limits post-integration.
• Troubleshoot issues with test hardware, fixtures, software, and DUT; coordinate vendor equipment.
