Job summary

ReNEW Schools in Utah seeks an Assistant Boys Wrestling Coach to support the wrestling program at the high school level. The position requires working some evenings and weekends and CPR/First Aid certification.

The role involves designing and implementing safe practice plans, supervising student-athletes, maintaining records, and coordinating with the Head Coach and athletic staff to promote sportsmanship and program growth.

Qualifications

• Adapting to changing work priorities; administering first aid; applying pertinent laws, codes, policies, and/or regulations; and organizing and communicating information and concepts.
• Knowledge of basic math, reading technical information, facilitating group discussions, and analyzing situations to define issues.
• Ability to schedule activities/meetings; gather data; work with diverse groups; lead; maintain confidentiality; meet deadlines; model sportsmanship; and handle discipline.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes the opposition's strategies to develop a game plan.
• Assesses student athletes and provides feedback on performance and team placement.
• Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences for information in their role.
• Develops game strategies/plans with Head Coach to prepare teams and athletes.
• Monitors academic eligibility and provides interventions as needed.
• Maintains records for compliance with district, athletic conference, and state requirements.
• Supervises student-athletes during all participation activities to minimize risk of injury.
• Supports Head Coach and other staff to fulfill roles and functions.
