The Community Youth Center of San Francisco (CYC) seeks a Program Specialist to provide academic tutoring and behavioral coaching to high school students during school hours and after-school programs.

You will collaborate with teachers and staff, deliver 1:1 and small group support, and help design engaging activities while maintaining a safe, supportive learning environment. Bilingual in Spanish and Cantonese/Mandarin is highly preferred.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree preferred plus 2 years of youth development or educational support experience.
• Knowledge of youth development practices and enrichment activities for youth.
• Experience with classroom management, conflict mediation, and restorative practices is a plus.
• Experience working with diverse youth and families is a plus.
• Ability to plan, implement, and organize programs and events.
• Strong written and oral communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with Google Docs, Sheets, and MS Office.

Aufgaben

• Provide 1:1 and group academic tutoring in core subjects and behavioral coaching.
• Collaborate with school day teachers, counselors, and after-school staff to identify high-need students.
• Provide 1:1 light case management for social-emotional learning support.
• Train and support high school volunteer tutors as needed.
• Create incentive plans to encourage student engagement and retention.
• Develop skill-building and project-based activities for youth.
• Support outreach and marketing to recruit youth for programs.
• Maintain a positive and safe learning environment, resolving conflicts with restorative practices.
• Work with school leadership and partners to align programs with goals for student development.
• Make contact with parents/caregivers to advise on progress and challenges.
• Maintain communication between school and families; include updates in reports as required by funders.
• Assist with data collection and program evaluation for continuous improvement.
