Job Description

Perform functions to instruct students on established curriculum, ensuring each individual gains the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to succeed as contributing citizens in a changing world. This is a full-time position, primarily teaching IED and DE classes.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver lessons aligned with district and state standards.
  • Create lesson plans and set educational goals meeting district expectations.
  • Modify and enrich lessons, curriculum, and resources to meet diverse student needs.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate and monitor student progress, including standardized testing.
  • Maintain records of student work and develop strategies to support student growth.
  • Communicate regularly with parents and students regarding progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to plan and integrate instruction.
  • Work with support teachers and specialists to address individual student needs.
  • Guide student teachers and volunteers, providing feedback on their work.
  • Participate in school and district committees and teams, providing feedback and acting as a liaison.
  • Establish a positive, safe classroom environment and enforce school policies.
  • Engage in professional development and implement best practices.
  • Participate in school events outside regular hours, such as open houses and conferences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with endorsements in Technology Education (9-12). Project Lead the Way certification is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

Salary based on education and experience, per the 2025-2026 Teacher Salary Schedule. Benefits are as outlined in the IPEA contract.
