Position: Contract (10+ Months)

Mode: Onsite

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Establish a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes student agency, ownership, and reflection.
• Design and implement engaging learning experiences aligned with Virginia Standards of Learning, LCPS curriculum, and effective instructional strategies to maximize student achievement.
• Create authentic learning experiences using various resources and technology to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Personalize instruction to meet students' needs and manage time effectively to optimize learning opportunities.
• Assess student growth concerning educational goals, objectives, and outcomes.
• Follow LCPS assessment and grading policies and guidelines.
• Analyze assessment data to improve teaching practices and student learning experiences.
• Maintain regular communication with students and parents/guardians regarding student progress.
• Manage classroom behavior to ensure a conducive learning environment and assist in behavior management across the school.
• Collaborate with colleagues and other professionals to enhance learning opportunities.
• Support colleagues, students, parents, and community stakeholders to promote student mastery of content and skills.
• Potentially supervise teacher assistants, student teachers, and volunteers.
• Participate actively in the school's professional learning community to deepen curriculum understanding and develop assessments.
