WV Schools of Diversion and Transition seeks a High School Teacher to provide instruction aligned with standards and the approved program of study in a residential setting.

The ideal candidate holds a professional teaching certificate with a special education focus, has at least three years of teaching experience, and collaborates with the Special Education Teacher to implement IEPs and support at-risk youths.

Formación

• Holds or qualifies for a professional teaching certificate with an endorsement in the required content area and grade level.
• Possesses the knowledge skills and ability to successfully perform job requirements and to work within a residential school setting.
• Experience or certification in special education and/or experience working with at-risk students.
• Background including, but not limited to, demonstrated successful experience with troubled or disruptive youth.
• Three (3) years of teaching experience.

Responsabilidades

• Implement the WV Schools of Diversion and Transition approved program of study.
• Foster a classroom climate conducive to learning.
• Utilize instructional techniques and methods which increase student learning.
• Monitor student progress toward mastery of instructional goals and objectives.
• Identify and select different instructional resources and methods to meet students' varying needs.
• Collaborate with Special Education Teacher to implement IEP's when developing lesson plans.
• Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress.
• Meet professional responsibilities.
• Comply with host agency's policies and procedures.
• Work in a cooperative manner with host agency staff to ensure a safe and secure environment and the integration of treatment and educational goals.
• Maintain and upgrade professional skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned by principal/lead teacher.
