Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Valid NC Teaching certification or eligible for NC Teaching certification in assigned area.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures.
• Adhere to NC Professional Teaching Standards.
• Maintain order in the classroom and establish reasonable rules of classroom behavior.
• Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area.
• Instruct students individually and in groups using various teaching methods.
• Create a classroom environment that engages students and achieves learning objectives.
• Set learning objectives based on district and state standards.
• Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation upon request.
• Diagnose learning challenges and maintain records for IEPs and 504 plans.
• Provide instruction meeting diverse needs including students with disabilities and limited English proficiency.
• Administer tests and grade assignments to assess progress.
• Communicate with parents/guardians and collaborate with counselors and administrators.

Education

Bachelor's degree required
