Job summary

Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools is seeking a high school teacher under moderate supervision to deliver instruction, monitor and evaluate students, and develop lesson plans aligned to the district's standards.

The role reports to the Principal, uses NC standards, and requires collaboration with staff to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment while meeting IEP/504 requirements and district goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required and NC teaching certification or eligibility.
  • Experience with NC DPI standards and classroom management.
  • Ability to develop lesson plans and differentiate instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to state, federal, and local laws, policies, and procedures
  • Adhere to NC Professional Teaching Standards
  • Plan and implement a program of study in the assigned content area
  • Instruct students individually and in groups
  • Prepare for classes and show written evidence of preparation
  • Diagnose learning challenges and maintain records for IEPs and 504 Plans
  • Provide instruction to meet needs of all students including ELL and students with disabilities
  • Assess students using tests and assignments
  • Meet with parents/guardians to discuss progress
  • Attend PLC and staff meetings for data analysis
