Job summary

A local educational institution in Rock Island is seeking a Substitute Teacher to support student success in a Catholic school environment. The candidate will follow prepared lessons, promote a faith-filled classroom, and ensure effective learning through classroom management. A Bachelor’s degree and an Illinois Professional Educator License are required, as well as a willingness to promote Catholic values. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Competitive pay of $135 per day is offered.

Qualifications

• Hold an IL Professional Educator License (PEL) or Substitute Teacher License in the state of IL.
• Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Must be knowledgeable of, and willing to promote, the Catholic faith.
• Ability to communicate to students, parents, and staff in an acceptable/courteous manner.
• Successful prior teaching or substitute teacher experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Follow the daily lessons created by the classroom teacher.
• Promote a classroom environment that is faith-filled and conducive to student learning.
• Instruct assigned classes at the designated times.
• Maintain student confidentiality and proper records.
• Encourage students to maintain standards of classroom behavior.
