Job summary

Isidore Newman School seeks an assistant Upper School track and field coach to motivate high school student-athletes and teach speed development, conditioning, and athletic instruction. You will support sprint development in the 100m–400m events and contribute to overall team readiness.

The role requires leading warmups, drills, mobility, and recovery routines; coordinating with coaches and staff; and maintaining a positive, disciplined practice environment aligned with Newman’s mission.

Qualifications

• Experience coaching sprint events and speed development in high school athletics.
• Ability to plan and deliver age-appropriate sprint and conditioning sessions.
• Strong communication with student-athletes, coaches, and parents to support development.

Responsibilities

• Lead age-appropriate training in acceleration, sprint mechanics, footwork, and conditioning.
• Plan structured warmups, drills, mobility work, and cooldown routines.
• Coordinate training with event coaches and strength staff to support athlete development.
• Meet-day support and consistent communication with the head coach; attendance at practices and competitions.
