Job summary

ProCare Therapy seeks an experienced Special Education Teacher to support high school students in resource and co-teaching environments, covering a maternity leave from September through December. This full-time contract is based near Middletown, CT, offering collaboration with supportive colleagues and a focus on student success.

You will deliver direct instruction, co-teach with general education teachers, monitor IEPs, and communicate with families and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid Special Education teaching certification, appropriate for high school level.
• Recent experience working with high school-aged students in special education.
• Strong collaboration skills for effective co-teaching.
• Understanding of IEPs and ability to deliver personalized instruction.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Flexibility and commitment to providing student-centered support.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct instruction and support to high school students with diverse learning needs in both resource and inclusive classroom settings.
• Co-teach with general education teachers, collaborating on lesson planning and classroom management.
• Implement and monitor IEPs, ensuring all goals and accommodations are met.
• Track student progress and document performance regularly.
• Communicate with parents, staff, and administrators as needed.
• Foster a welcoming environment that encourages student growth, engagement, and independence.
