Job summary

Qualifications

• Illinois Educator License in special education (LBS1) is required.
• Experience: two years of school-based experience preferred.
• Willingness to obtain Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) certification and implement restraints per district and state laws.
• Bilingual or Spanish-speaking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with general education staff, related service personnel, parents, teaching assistants, and students to ensure each student on the caseload receives a comprehensive education.
• Coordinate the IEP process: write, facilitate meetings, monitor services, and maintain records.
• Assess student progress using formal and informal measures and use data to inform instruction and IEP goals.
• Design instruction aligned to general education standards, student needs, and assessment results.
• Maintain a positive, organized learning environment with student-centered decisions and collaborative staff.
