Job summary

Deming Public Schools' Deming High School is seeking a 26-27 SY Special Education Teacher to support students’ learning of subject matter and life skills. Beginning 26-27 school year, the role follows the district salary schedule and requires NM teaching licensure.

The teacher collaborates with the IEP team, delivers tailored instruction, monitors progress, and maintains records while communicating with parents and administration. Immediate start preferred.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree (minimum).
• Valid/current New Mexico Teaching License with appropriate endorsement.
• Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts Degree.
• Such alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Participates in the IEP process by attending IEP meetings and preparing IEP paperwork.
• Delivers instruction to enable students to make IEP goal progress and document progress.
• Instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the times designated.
• Plans a program of student success tailored to individual needs, interests and abilities.
• Maintains accurate records and communicates progress to parents as required.
