Job summary

Egg Harbor Township Board of Education in Egg Harbor Township, NJ, seeks a Special Education Teacher POR/ICR for High School to provide instructional services to students with IEPs.

Candidates must hold NJ Teacher of the Handicapped or Teacher of Students With Disabilities Certification, and secondary content area certs, with strong knowledge of NJSLS and differentiating instruction; collaboration with CST and IEP implementation are essential.

Qualifications

• NJ Teacher of the Handicapped Certification or Teacher of Students With Disabilities Certification (Standard, CEAS, CE).
• Secondary Content Area Certification (Science and/or Social Studies preferred).
• Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS).
• Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to speak English clearly and accurately.
• Ability to create differentiated lesson plans and collaborate with CST.
• Ability to implement and follow students' IEPs.
• Ability to engage and motivate students; involve paraprofessionals.
• Ability to communicate effectively with parents/guardians; pass CHR and abuse disclosures.

Responsibilities

• Creates and follows daily lesson plans with differentiated strategies.
• Implements best practices and engaging teaching methods.
• Collaborates with CST to ensure appropriate student services.
• Maintains a safe classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Develops and modifies student assessments as needed.
• Communicates with parents/guardians regularly.
• Enforces classroom rules and procedures for proper behavior.
• Prepares materials and classrooms for activities; teaches personal development.
• Guides students with adjustment or academic challenges; supports self-advocacy.
• Observes and evaluates student performance, behavior, and health.
