Empowerment Academy Charter School is hiring Special Education teachers to join our growing High School next year! Empowerment is a growing charter school, currently K-9, adding a 10th grade next year. We have 3 campuses. Our Charter is approved to be K-12, so we are looking to add amazing educators next year. Please read the description carefully and apply if you are interested in joining our amazing community. We are seeking the following Special Education Teachers for our High School:

• High School Mathematics, Special Education (needs to be certified in both)
• High School ELA/English, Special Education (needs to be certified in both)
• High School Social Studies, Special Education (needs to be certified in both)
• High School Science, Special Education (needs to be certified in both)

Special Education Certified teachers are eligible for a $3,000 bonus!

Certified Math and Science teachers are eligible for a $7,500 bonus!

Base Salary SY24/25: $67,000- $87,000

Potential Earnings: $71,000 - $91,000+ after Bonuses and Stipends.

TEACHER SUPPORTS

Teachers at Empowerment Academy are part of a school-wide team. They receive career-long coaching and professional development support from school leaders; work with their peers in professional learning communities (PLCs) to plan lessons and solve problems; and partner with an array of specialists to meet scholars’ diverse needs.

Examples of such teacher supports include:

• Abundant planning periods during the school day;
• A research-based curriculum and supporting curricular materials;
• High-quality formative assessments, aligned with the curriculum, that help identify when students have not achieved mastery of a skill, concept, or knowledge item;
• Full-time reading and math specialists who tutor students struggling to master an essential skill, and counselors and social workers who help students struggling with non-academic problems.

Candidates MUST either hold a New Jersey Department of Education CE, Limited CE, CEAS, or Standard Certificate in Special Education. To teach a High School Content Area, you need to be certified in that content area as well. Dual certification is required.
