Job summary

American Leadership Academy seeks a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 year to support students on the ALA Virtual campus. On-site presence is required while instruction is delivered virtually.

Candidates must possess or obtain a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card, and hold a teaching certificate. Applicants should submit an online application with the required documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and Teaching Certificate required.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card required.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or related field.

Responsibilities

• Modify and adapt instructional delivery and materials to support students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop lesson plans aligned to the curriculum and collaborate with general education teachers for inclusion.
• Communicate with parents, administrators, and other professionals to plan IEP/Evaluation meetings.
• Act as IEP facilitator and coordinate between special ed and regular education staff.
• Maintain student data and update IEP goals and progress reports.
• Prepare report cards and progress reports for students.

Charter One works with schools across the country to provide all-inclusive education management services. We handle the day-to-day work so that client school boards can focus on governance and policy issues to be sure that the vision and mission of the school are being carried out properly.

American Leadership Academy is now accepting applications for a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year for our ALA Virtual campus. This role requires an on-site presence, while instruction will be delivered virtually. Candidates must possess, or be willing to obtain, a valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Modify and adapt instructional delivery and materials in alignment with the adopted curriculum and IEPs to ensure access for students with diverse learning needs.
• Develop and implement approved lesson plans aligned to the adopted curriculum and collaborate with general education teachers to support lesson planning for inclusion students.
• Consistently communicate and correspond with parents, administrators, school psychologists and other professionals to set-up and plan IEP and Evaluation meetings.
• Act as IEP facilitator and collaborator between special ed. and regular education teachers.
• Gather relative information from team members and write, revise, or update IEP and existing data reports.
• Complete report cards and progress reports on each student’s progress.
• Assist other professional staff in identifying and implementing interventions for students identified in the Student Study Team process.
• Maintain appropriate student data in order to keep school-wide grading system up to date as well as data required to monitor IEP goal progress.
• Attend professional meetings, educational conferences and training workshops in order to maintain and improve professional competence.
• Other duties as assigned.
