Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements and level assigned.
• Endorsements in Special Education and English/Language Arts/Reading or Mathematics or Core Subjects.
• Preferred: one year of student teaching or approved internship.
• Experience with students eligible for special education and related services.
• Valid Texas ESL Certification and/or Dyslexia training.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements instructional plans to close achievement gaps.
• Participates in DDAP PLC meetings to plan accommodations for student needs.
• Participates in district training on intervention strategies for literacy and math.
• Prepares and documents lesson plans per district standards.
• Implements IEPs, monitors and documents student progress.
• Communicates with parents to review progress and maintain confidentiality.
• Maintains accurate student records and uses data tools for progress.
• Serves as Case Manager for ARD/IEP processes and SBIEP documentation.
• Ensures appropriate paperwork distribution to teachers and supports.
