Must be able to teach life skills, academic skills, and exhibit strong skills in behavior management. Attend/participate in appropriate and relevant meetings and staffings. Initiate and complete required paperwork within established timelines. Collaborate with appropriate staff/individuals regarding student programming and services. Delegate and supervise paraprofessional(s) assigned within the classroom. Must be a team player. Individualized and small group instruction and co-teaching in a team environment. Data collection and strong behavior management. Attend/participate in parent meetings and relevant after-school and/or evening activities. Educational/Skills/Experience Required

Certification in K-12 Special Education, cross categorical. Knowledge and expertise in working with the various eligibility categories. Prefer previous experience in a co-teaching and/or resources setting. Training in the area of behavior management is preferred. Minimum of three years teaching experience preferred. Competent technical skills. Regular attendance and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, parents, and students. Knowledge of appropriate grade level and functional curriculum associated with the position. Willingness to be trained in appropriate use of seclusion, isolation, and restraint procedures. Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
