Commitment Bonus $2,000 Requires a 3-year commitment to Renton School District in a certificated Special Education teaching or clinical ESA position. Paid in lump sum upon completion of first full month of work. Prorated by FTE.
Special Education Stipend $5,528 Recruitment and retention of Special Education teachers. Also reflects payment for extra duties required, such as writing IEPs, assigning work to paraeducators, etc. Pay spread over duration of regular salary pay. Prorated by FTE.

All of our special education certificated staff receive a generous stipend and IEP release days. New special education staff receive a significant amount of support during the on-boarding process, including specialized training on writing IEPs and review of curriculum and instructional materials available to our staff. Renton School District employee benefits are administered by the Washington State Healthcare Authority (HCA) under the School Employees Benefits Board (SEBB). For an overview of available benefit options.
Eligibility for benefits is determined by the number of hours employees are anticipated to work during the school year (September 1 through August 31). Any employee who is scheduled to work630 hours or more in a year is eligible for benefits.
