Job summary

Uintah High School in Utah is seeking a PT Special Education Teacher Aide in a voucher position up to 29.5 hours per week with no benefits. Applicants must be 21 or older and meet the ParaPro/education requirements stated above.

The aide will provide instructional support, assist with daily living and social skills, supervise students in classes and during activities, and help with field trips under the direction of the special education teacher.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate Degree, 48 semester hours of college credit or must have passed the Para-Pro Test or be willing to take and pass the Para-Pro Test immediately upon hire.
• Successful experience working with children at risk.
• Successful experience as an at risk teaching assistant.

Responsibilities

• Provides instructional support to the special education teacher.
• Assists in teaching daily living skills, social skills, leisure activities and mobility skills.
• Assists with student behavior management under supervision.
• Accompanies students to mainstream classes and supervises between classes.
• Maintains confidentiality and tracks student progress.
